My heart is heavy thinking of all the hard things so many are facing. All the uncertainty and anxiety about our healthy and safety. All the lost income, jobs and economic uncertainty. We are all weighing the risks and needs. My deepest gratitude to those who are risking their personal health and the health of their loved ones to care for others and provide essential services to us who have the privilege to stay home.
Thank you, thank you, thank you.
I have spoken personally to each of our caregivers over the past months to assess our role in this crisis. We love our families and the children we have the privilege of caring for. We want to proceed with the upmost caution to ensure we are doing everything humanly possible to provide care safety during this time for families who need support.
In home child care is considered essential so we are able to work in your home during the
Safer At Home order. We will begin to provide care with the following precautions.
Both families and caregivers are required to take every precaution possible in
their daily life to ensure their health and safety.
- staying home except for essential work and tasks
- limiting exposure to a select group of family / friends with clear boundaries
- wearing a mask at all times when in public
- washing hands thoroughly and frequently
- maintaining social distance when in public or work settings
Families can create a care position with Meredith to hire one caregiver.
We will match caregivers with one family as much as possible. If a caregiver
needs more hours than one family can provide then we will match a caregiver
with two families if all parties are comfortable with the level of exposure.
(Booking on babysitting as needed will not be possible to limit exposure.)
Families will receive potential caregiver profiles and conduct phone + facetime
interviews to assess fit before mutually agreeing to meet in person. Families will do trial time
with a caregiver before offering a set weekly scheduled position and beginning care.
Care will continue ongoing with the understanding that a family or
caregiver may cancel at any time if they no longer feel comfortable leaving their
home or having a caregiver come to their home.
Both families and caregivers will be fully transparent with one another
about any exposure and/or symptoms at all times.
No care will be provided if a child, parent or caregiver is experiencing any symptoms.
Rates start at $25 per hour.
Some position that involve tutoring or nanny sharing may have higher
hourly rates depending on the level of experience needed.
The IRS considers child care providers Household Employees if they exceed $2200 in wages.
We recommend Poppins Payroll.
You are welcome to text me to set up a time to talk about your care and how we can help.
From the bottom of my heart, I wish you and your family peace and health as you navigate these weeks and months ahead. We are here to help.
Meredith's caregivers are personally interviewed, vetted and trained. We work by word of mouth to find the neighborhood's best, experienced, loving caregivers.
Each family & caregiver is personally matched by Meredith. Create your own care schedule to best meet your weekly needs. You will receive profiles of potential caregivers and interview each person to find the perfect fit.
We have a $50 annual membership.
Each caregiver has been vetted for experience, references, background check, driving record, the international nanny association skills assessment and infant and child CPR certification.
Meredith personally trains each caregiver. We also offer additional trainings in infant care with New North Newborn Care.
Would you like to join us? We would love to connect! If you have any questions feel free to text Meredith to set up a time to chat at 310.498.8965.
Dear families and caregivers,
I want to send my heartfelt support, love and solidarity to our black, indigenous and people of color families and caregivers. I join my voice with cries for justice for George Floyd, Ahmaud Arbery, Breonna Taylor and every single person who faces the pain of the ingrained racism in our society daily.
As a white person- I apologize for not doing my part to fight our system of white supremacy and for being passive in my privilege. This is an unacceptable way of being.
It is time for action without ceasing. Not just more empty sympathy for loss, shock over the reality of the world or upset over property damage. There have been generations of this passive and privileged attitude about racism. It must end now.
Starting now, every month M & Co. will be donating a percentage of our family referral fee to Black Lives Matter organizations. This month we will be donating to the Los Angeles Action Bail Fund in support of the protestors who are risking their lives to demand change.
If there is an organization that you would like us to donate to please let me know.
Our care work is about showing love to the families in our community but it is also about showing up for the change our world desperately needs. We need a societal transformation to overcome police brutality, white supremacy and systemic racism.
Inaction is not an option.

"I called Meredith & Co in a panic a few months ago when my scheduled babysitter canceled on me last minute. Meredith was able to provide me with EXCELLENT child care on very short notice. Kyra engaged my kids in such "out of the box" activities as building obstacle courses in their bedrooms in an effort to motivate them to read and brush teeth before bed. Needless to say, my kids love her and are always excited to have her return! More importantly, I feel very confident leaving my kids with the quality of care provided by Meredith & Co!"
"Working with Meredith has taken the stress out of finding child care. I used to spend a lot of time and energy finding sitters and then interviewing them, checking references, and building up trust. Often, after all that work, I'd still find myself scrambling to cover an evening out. Now, I send Meredith all our needs for the month, and she takes care of it. I know that any caregiver she sends is carefully selected and trained, so while we have regulars, I don't worry or do anything extra when it's someone new. Best of all, they are creative and energetic: the kids look forward to playing with them!"
"We first found Meredith when we were looking for a short-term but nanny to help fill the two month gap. Since our situation was unique, most traditional nanny agencies wanted nothing to do with us - but Meredith rose to the challenge. She spent the time to really get to know our family, and helped us better understand what we wanted from a caregiver. She sent us a variety of qualified, trustworthy and caring candidates. We were so pleased with our initial experience with Meredith, that now we go to her to help us source more caregivers for sporadic last-minute care - which has been a life-saver. We recommend Meredith & Co. wholeheartedly."
