My heart is heavy thinking of all the hard things so many are facing. All the uncertainty and anxiety about our healthy and safety. All the lost income, jobs and economic uncertainty. We are all weighing the risks and needs. My deepest gratitude to those who are risking their personal health and the health of their loved ones to care for others and provide essential services to us who have the privilege to stay home.
Thank you, thank you, thank you.
I have spoken personally to each of our caregivers over the past week to assess our role in this crisis. We love our families and the children we have the privilege of caring for. We want to proceed with the upmost caution to ensure we are doing everything humanly possible to provide care safety during this time for families who need support.
In home child care is considered essential so we are able to work in your home during the
Safer At Home order. We will begin to provide care with the following precautions.
Both families and caregivers are required to complete TWO full weeks of quarantine
before beginning work together.
Every caregiver & family is being asked to stay home except for essential
work, food, medicine and doctor appointments.
Upon completing two weeks of self quarantine, families will be able to
create a care position with Meredith. Booking on SitterPro will not be possible
as we will not be providing care as needed.
Caregivers will only be allowed to work with one family at a time
and families will be allowed to work with one caregiver to minimize all exposure.
Families will receive potential caregiver profiles and conduct phone + facetime interviews
to assess fit before mutually agreeing to begin care.
Care will continue ongoing with the understanding that a family or
caregiver may cancel at any time if they no longer feel comfortable leaving their
home or having a caregiver come to their home.
Both families and caregivers will be fully transparent with one another
about any exposure and/or symptoms at all times. No care will be
provided if a child, parent or caregiver is sick.
Caregivers will be paid $25 per hour to ensure additional compensation
for providing care during this time of risk. The IRS considers child care providers
You are welcome to text me to set up a time to talk about your care and how we can help.
From the bottom of my heart, I wish you and your family peace and health as you navigate these weeks and months ahead. We are here to help.
Meredith's caregivers are personally interviewed, vetted and trained. We work by word of mouth to find the neighborhood's best, experienced, loving caregivers.
Each family & caregiver is personally matched by Meredith. Create your own care schedule to best meet your weekly needs. You will receive profiles of potential caregivers and interview each person to find the perfect fit.
We have a $50 annual membership.
Each caregiver has been vetted for experience, references, background check, driving record, the international nanny association skills assessment and infant and child CPR certification.
Would you like to join us? We would love to connect! If you have any questions feel free to text Meredith to set up a time to chat at 310.498.8965.
My name is Meredith. I love plants and pizza, Star Wars and skiing, Beyonce and babies & lipstick and margaritas.
Oldest of seven grandkids, (the 7G we like to call ourselves), I spent the first half of my life in Europe and the second half in Los Angeles. I live in Highland Park with my sister where we like to host dinner parties where we don't cook. I follow the WNBA LA Sparks religiously and am a season ticket holder.
I was a full time nanny for two of my best friends since they were babies. Now they are 10 and 7 and make me go on scary ferris wheels and terrifying water slides but I still love them with all my heart. I created my career taking care of children for wonderful families in my neighborhood and helping other lovely people do the same.
I hope you will join us or send us a friend our way. :)
"I called Meredith & Co in a panic a few months ago when my scheduled babysitter canceled on me last minute. Meredith was able to provide me with EXCELLENT child care on very short notice. Kyra engaged my kids in such "out of the box" activities as building obstacle courses in their bedrooms in an effort to motivate them to read and brush teeth before bed. Needless to say, my kids love her and are always excited to have her return! More importantly, I feel very confident leaving my kids with the quality of care provided by Meredith & Co!"
"Working with Meredith has taken the stress out of finding child care. I used to spend a lot of time and energy finding sitters and then interviewing them, checking references, and building up trust. Often, after all that work, I'd still find myself scrambling to cover an evening out. Now, I send Meredith all our needs for the month, and she takes care of it. I know that any caregiver she sends is carefully selected and trained, so while we have regulars, I don't worry or do anything extra when it's someone new. Best of all, they are creative and energetic: the kids look forward to playing with them!"
"We first found Meredith when we were looking for a short-term but nanny to help fill the two month gap. Since our situation was unique, most traditional nanny agencies wanted nothing to do with us - but Meredith rose to the challenge. She spent the time to really get to know our family, and helped us better understand what we wanted from a caregiver. She sent us a variety of qualified, trustworthy and caring candidates. We were so pleased with our initial experience with Meredith, that now we go to her to help us source more caregivers for sporadic last-minute care - which has been a life-saver. We recommend Meredith & Co. wholeheartedly."
